Abstract
The digital economy has triggered profound transformations in the labor market,significantly impacting high-quality population development.Using the panel data from 31 Chinese provinces(2011-2020)and a two-way fixed effects model,this study examines the influence of the digital economy on high-quality population development.The findings reveal that the digital economy exerts a significantly positive effect on high-quality population development,with labor marketization demonstrating a positive moderating effect.New quality productive forces enhance the pivotal role of the digital economy in advancing high-quality population development.Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the digital economy negatively affects provinces with either very high or very low development levels but significantly promotes high-quality population development in moderately developed provinces.Meanwhile,labor marketization exhibits diminishing marginal effects in highly developed provinces.Both the digital economy and labor marketization,along with their interaction term,consistently show positive effects across provinces with varying labor marketization levels.To sustainably improve population quality,this study proposes to advance labor market reforms,foster a well-trained and skilled labor force,and facilitate the efficient mobility aligned with market mechanisms.关键词
