Abstract

Actual exploration shows that some favorable traps near source faults do not produce oil,so evaluation on influence of faults-related attributes on oil and gas accumulation is required.Starting from internal structure of fault zones and combining relevant theories of oil and gas migration system,fault factors affecting accumulation are ana-lyzed,and evaluation method for influence of source faults on accumulation potential is established.The results show that fault throw,fault activity rate,distance to source rock,fault plane geometry,lithology on both sides of the fault and relative relationship between trap and fault are fault factors influencing accumulation.Among these fac-tors,fault activity rate and fault plane geometry are used to evaluate fault activity,while relative relationship be-tween trap and fault,lithology on both sides of the fault,fault throw and distance to source rock are used to evaluate lateral and vertical migration capacity of oil and gas.Factors affecting accumulation such as fault throw,fault activi-ty rate and distance to source rock of various layers in Kongxi Fault show significant segmentation,with fault plane curvature and lithology on both sides varying with depth and location,therefore having different impacts on accumu-lation.By evaluating influence of source faults on nearby traps based on different weights of fault factors,traps with comprehensive evaluation score of>3.5 are considered to be favorable oil producing traps,and application shows consistency of 87.5%between calculation results and drilling results.The research provides an effective system for evaluating influence of faults nearby traps on accumulation potential,thereby effectively delineating favorable accu-mulation areas.
