Abstract
The citizenization of agricultural migrants is a cornerstone of China's new urbanization strate-gy.It serves as a critical pathway for promoting urban-rural integration, achieving common prosperity, and advancing Chinese-style modernization. This study examines the connotations and characteristics of agricultural migrant citizenization, distinguishing it from related concepts such as'citizenship'in interna-tional migration studies,'urbanization'in economic geography, and broader research on urban-rural migration.Key features of agricultural migrant citizenization are identified, including its large scale,mul-tidimensional demands, diverse population groups, gradual progression, and reliance on institutional frameworks.Drawing on the experiences of East Asian countries such as Japan and South Korea, the study proposes strategies to enhance the citizenization process. These include systematic planning, phased im-plementation,aligning multiple objectives, fostering urban-rural collaboration, and promoting resource sharing.Although significant progress has been achieved in China's citizenization efforts, the study un-derscores the need for further improvements in institutional frameworks, resource allocation, and urban-rural coordination. These steps are essential for building a fair and effective citizenization system that un-derpins new urbanization and urban-rural integration.关键词
