Research on Executive Team Diversity and Technology Innovation Efficiency in Intelligent Manufacturing Enterprises

Abstract
In order to investigate the impact of executive team diversity on the technological innovation efficiency of intelligent manufacturing enterprises and its mechanism of action,this paper takes 419 Chinese A-share intelligent manufacturing listed enterprises as research samples from 2015 to 2023,and measures the technological innovation efficiency of intelligent manufacturing enterprises and execu-tive team diversity through DEA model and Herfindal(Herfindal)coefficient,respectively.The two-way fixed effects model is tested through empirical analysis.It is found that both gender diversity and over-seas background diversity of the executive team contribute to the improvement of technological innova-tion efficiency,and the conclusion is still valid after a series of robustness tests such as instrumental variables.Mechanistic analyses show that gender diversity and overseas background diversity of execu-tive teams enhance technological innovation efficiency by increasing the degree of firms'digital trans-formation and the level of management equity incentives.Heterogeneity analysis shows that gender di-versity favours the enhancement of technological innovation efficiency in non-state-owned enterprises and small-scale enterprises;in state-owned enterprises and large-scale enterprises,overseas background diversity has a positive impact on technological innovation efficiency.关键词
