Abstract

In order to investigate the dynamic characteristics of pantograph-catenary cou-pling under the influence of aerodynamic properties and track irregularities,finite volume models were established for the pantograph-car body,as well as models for car body-track dynamics and pantograph-catenary coupling.The coupling characteristics of the panto-graph-catenary system under various operating conditions were analyzed.The results show that the contact force between the pantograph and catenary typically exhibits a greater magnitude in the open operating direction compared to that in the closed operating direc-tion.Specifically,it was found that the maximum contact force in the open operating di-rection was 1.14%to 11.51%larger than that observed in closed operation,while the av-erage contact force was 1.29%to 7.69%greater than its counterpart in closed operation.Furthermore,it was observed that contact forces display consistent and periodic variations across different spans,generally peaking after both droppers and fixing points.Therefore,it is recommended that regular inspections of wear on the contact line at droppers and fix-ing points be conducted during maintenance phases of overhead contact wire systems.
