Abstract

The widespread use of methylene blue(MB)has been proven to pose a threat to the ecological environment.Its structure is stable and its components are complex,making it difficult to degrade with conventional processes.Therefore,in this paper,biochar was prepared from grapefruit peel and modified to prepare advanced oxidation composite catalytic materials,and its ability to treat methylene blue(MB)wastewater was investigated.Sodium alginate functionalized magnetic carbon(Fe3O4-SBC-SA)was prepared by co-precipitation on the surface of grapefruit peel biochar and calcined by sodium alginate coating to functionalize the surface,and the catalytic materials were characterized and analyzed by XRD and SEM.Single factor experiments were conducted to explore the optimal degradation system.The quenching experiment and recovery experiment were used to explore the catalytic mechanism and reuse ability.The degradation efficiency was 99.9%at 0.5 mg/L dosage and 3 mM PMS,the contribution of the catalytic system was 1O2>O2->·SO4->·OH,and catalytic materials have good recycling properties.The prepared Fe3O4-SBC-SA composites have excellent MB wastewater treatment capacity.
