Abstract

In order to detect arc fault accurately,a modal decomposition method for arc resistance of arc generator surface based on improved complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition(CEEMD)method is proposed.Combining the advantages of empirical mode decomposition(EMD)method and CEEMD method,an improved CEEMD method is established to reduce redundant noise.The decomposition results are checked by orthogonality,and two adjacent non-orthogonal intrinsic mode func-tion(IMF)components are merged to eliminate the transfer phenomenon and mode splitting,and the fault arc detection is real-ized.The experimental results show that when decomposing the loop current signal using the proposed method,the recognition effect of the first layer of the intrinsic mode function(IMF1)is the best.Decomposing the signal to the first layer can increase the running speed and save the running time.By using the amplitude variation of IMF1,the characteristics of arc faults can be effectively identified.The current signal of parallel operation load loop obtained by the proposed method is consistent with the actual normal operation and arc fault operation situations,and the parallel load arc fault can be detected correctly.
