"Perfect health"in the context of gene editing:ethical risks and governance in technological advance-ment
摘要
Abstract
The controversy over whether gene editing can be applied to human enhancement has long existed.Recent ad-vances in genomic research and biotechnology,particularly the controversial"gene-edited infants"event,have reignited global discussions regarding the ethical implications of human pursuit of"trait enhancement"and the"perfection."Transhumanists re-gard the enhancement right to health as a foundational basis for genetic editing,advocating the use to achieve"perfect health"at the individual level while neglecting the inherent challenges to human dignity.Gene editing events that increasingly violate ethical and legal boundaries in attempts to alter human essence necessitates urgent regulation of enhancement technologies.International governance frameworks supplies China's hospitals with multi-dimensional inspiration for China.Firstly,it is imperative to in-tegrate existing regulatory frameworks with accelerated specialized legislation.Secondly,ethical dimensions must be incorporated to establish a dual governance system combining legal frameworks and ethical oversight.Thirdly,public participation and over-sight mechanisms should be strengthened to achieve a balanced equilibrium among scientific research freedom,ethical risk man-agement,and legal regulatory frameworks.As the frontier of clinical transformation of technology,hospitals should not only grasp opportunities of medical innovation in the widespread application of gene editing,but also rigorously address ethical and regulatory compliance challenges.Only by transforming technological innovation into a sustainable force for high-quality development,while harmonizing innovation with regulation under inviolable bioethical principles,can we achieve synergistic advancement in scientific and technological beneficence and societal welfare.关键词
