Abstract

To clarify the effects of Sophora alopecuroides green manure application methods and concentrations on soil nutrients,melon quality,and yield in continuous cropping systems,and provide a reference for utilizing Sophora alopecuroides green manure to address soil continuous cropping obstacles,optimize fertilization practices,and enhance resource efficiency,a field experiment was conducted with three application methods:fresh aboveground parts deep burial(M),extracted residue deep burial(Q),and extract spray(P).Each method was applied at four equivalent fresh biomass concentrations(0,3 000,6 000,and 9 000 kg·hm-2).Soil physicochemical prop-erties,melon quality,and yield were measured.The results showed that Sophora alopecuroides green manure significantly increased soil pH and improved soil fertility in continuous cropping melon fields,with notable enhancements in soil and potassium.The applica-tion of Sophora alopecuroides green manure significantly altered the soil C/N ratio but did not significantly affect the C/P or N/P ratios.Different application methods and concentrations promoted increases in single-fruit weight and improved melon quality,particularly demonstrating a significant effect on enhancing fruit reducing sugar content.Variance analysis indicated that the Q3 treatment(ex-tracted residue deep burial at 9 000 kg·hm-2)significantly increased fruit quantity in continuous cropping melons.Correlation analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between melon fruit quantity and soil total phosphorus content.Comprehensive analysis demonstrated that the Q3 treatment significantly increased the yield of continuous cropping melons(49 272 kg·hm-2).
