On Axel Honneth's Pluralistic Theory of Justice Rooted in"Recognition"

Abstract
In the contemporary era,where pluralism has become an indisputable fact,the pluralist theory of justice advocates different social justice principles for different social spheres,particularly suited to addressing the multifaceted meanings and differences that emerge in real-world contexts.As a leading figure in the third generation of the Frankfurt School and a prominent theorist of contemporary pluralist justice theory,Axel Honneth connects"recognition"with the ethical goal of"good life",thereby establishing an ethical framework based on recognition.By establishing a nexus between"recognition"and the ethical goal of"good life,"Honneth has developed a theory of pluralistic justice founded on recognition and encompassing the three principles of need,equality,and fulfilment.This theoretical framework is an attempt to respond to the demands for a just society that is in harmony with a pluralistic society.Nevertheless,it is important note that Honneth's theory of pluralistic justice is not without its limitations,and Nancy Fraser critiques it from a"dualistic"standpoint.The exchange and synthesis of ideas between these two scholars vividly illustrate the dynamic tension and vitality within pluralistic theory of justice.关键词
