A method of solving velocity ambiguity in Doppler-division multiplexing MIMO-OFDM radar

Abstract
Because of the orthogonality of the signals from different transmitting antennas in Doppler domain,multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)-orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(OFDM)radar system based on Doppler-division multiplexing(DDM)has recently attracted lots of research interest.However,the maximum unambiguous velocity of radar is limited by the number of transmitting antennas.Moreover,for multiple targets located in the same range cell,when their velocity difference is an integer multiple of the maximum unambiguous velocity,the targets will overlap each other.In view of the above,a method of solving velocity ambiguity based on phase offset DDM(PO-DDM)is proposed in this paper.The DDM MIMO-OFDM signal model and the radar signal processing method are introduced,and the cause of the velocity ambiguity is revealed.By adding a small offset phase to some transmitting antennas,the equidistant distribution characteristics of the target peaks in the range-velocity spectrum in the velocity dimension are broken,and the velocity ambiguity number is determined.The overlapping target separation is eliminated by searching the velocity index difference between the adjacent peaks of the velocity-range spectrum target.The simulation results show that the proposed method can solve the problems of solving velocity ambiguity and target overlap at the same time in comparison with the existing methods,so it provides a new technical path for high dynamic scenes.关键词
