Abstract

The non-destructive,in-situ,and real-time measurement of light-initiated high explosive areal density is the key to the development of the simulation loading technology for light-initiated high explosive.Based on the characteristics of the light-initiated high explosive coating,X-ray fluorescence(XRF)simulation is carried out by MCNP.A"source-sample-detector"model is established,and numerical simulation studies of XRF spectra with different acetone contents and different areal densities of light-initiated high explosive are conducted.The results show that the designed X-ray source can stably excite the Kα peak of silver element in light-initiated high explosive,the acetone content has little effect on the Kα peak count of silver within the tested areal density range.As the light-initiated high explosive areal density increases,the Kα peak count gradually increases,and the growth rate of the Kα peak count gradually decreases.The results verify the feasibility of measuring the areal density of light-initiated high explosive through XRF technology.The research results provide a technical support for the development of the measurement of light-initiated high explosive based on XRF.
