Abstract

Different combinations of irrigation water and nitrogenous fertilizer were designed to ex-plore their effects on soil nitrogen content growth status,fruit traits,quality,and yield of facility-cul-tivated watermelon in the Yellow River irrigation area of Ningxia.Suitable combinations of irrigation and fertilizer was selected for this area.The results showed that soil nitrogen content was highest in the W3(2 200 m3·hm-2)N4(240 kg·hm-2)treatment,the fruit traits were better under treatments W2N4 and W3N4.The quality of irrigation water were better in W2(1 800 m3·hm-2)and W3(2 200 m3·hm-2)when combined with N2(80 kg·hm-2)and N3(160 kg·hm-2),respectively.The yields ofW3(2 200 m3·hm-2)were enhanced when combined with N4(240 kg·hm-2),N3(160 kg·hm-2)and N2(80 kg·hm-2),reaching 76 565.36,70 637.68 and 70 374.37 kg·hm-2,respec-tively.The correlation analysis showed that the soil nitrogen,watermelon growth index,sugar con-tent,vitamin C,nitrate and yield were all significantly positively correlated.They were negatively correlated with total acid,and positively correlated with peel and fruit hardness.In conclusion,water-melon growth was optimal with nitrogenous fertilizer amount of N3(160 kg·hm-2)and N4(240 kg·hm-2),while quality was better with N2(80 kg·hm-2)and N3(160 kg·hm-2).The greater the amount of water and nitrogenous fertilizer,the higher the soil nitrogen content,and the more obvious the yield-increasing effect.
