Abstract

At present,mainstream wind and solar power generation rely on power electronic converters as grid interfaces.Due to the limitation of overcurrent capacity of power electronic devices,the transient support capacity during grid faults is limited.To improve the transient support capability of renewable energy generation,this paper focuses on a new type of renewable energy generation topology.First,the operational mechanisms of start-up,grid connection,steady-state control,and transient control during grid fault logic for this new type are analyzed.Moreover,the steady-state power transmission and transient support control strategies for the synchronous motor interface renewable energy generation are proposed.Through the dual improvement of topology structure and control strategies,the renewable energy generation has good power transmission effect,reactive power support capability and grid-forming characteristic during steady-state operation,and demonstrates higher transient support capability than traditional converter grid connected interface renewable energy generation in case of grid faults.The simulation results under various operating conditions have verified the effectiveness and superiority of the synchronous motor interface renewable energy generation topology and control strategies.
