The Derivative Logic of Cultural Hegemony Theory under the Structure of Capital Accumulation—Cultural Premise of Constructing the Chinese Modernization Theory

Abstract
Gramsci's perspective on the success of the October Revolution in Tsarist Russia is due to the absence of a bourgeois civil society as understood within Western cultural terms.He argues that Western nations cannot replicate the direct political revolutionary path of the October Revolution,and that the prerequisite for the success of the Western proletarian revolution is the attainment of cultural hegemony.Laclau,building upon Gramsci's theory,proposes the"articulation"of cultural hegemony through discourse practices,yet his theory became insular within the ideological sphere.The underlying reality that informs the theoretical shift from Gramsci to Laclau is the historical transformation of the structure of global capital accumulation.Developed countries have pulled developing countries into the modernization process from traditional societies,turning them into parasitic"hosts"for their own capital accumulation.This process has also established a cultural power structure of"civilization-barbarism"and"advanced-backward"at the cultural level,providing a rationale for the parasitic and exploitative capital accumulation behaviors of the developed nations.As industries from developed countries transfer to developing nations,the labor-capital conflict shifts,altering the form of the proletariat as the subject of revolution.Laclau's discourse practices are about taking action to gain discursive power,which provides a theoretical explanation for how extreme environmentalists and abstractists in today's Western society seize discursive power by advocating for the rights of minority groups.We should comprehend the influence of the structure of capital accumulation on the formation of ideas,and then establish the theory of modernization with Chinese characteristics based on clear theoretical premises and a solid foundation of subjective consciousness.关键词
