Factors influencing the frailty of the elderly with comorbidities:a Meta-analysis

Abstract
Objective This study provides a reference for strengthening the prevention of frailty and helping to improve the qual-ity of life of older adults with comorbidities by systematically evaluating the influencing factors of frailty in older adults with comor-bidities.Methods Computer searches were conducted in CNKI,WanFang Data,VIP,CBM,PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase,CI-NAHL,and Web of Science databases to search for studies on factors affecting frailty among elderly people with comorbidities.The search time limit was from the inception of the database to September 2023.After two researchers independently screened the litera-ture,extracted data,and evaluated the risk of bias of the included studies,RevMan 5.4 software was used to conduct a meta-analysis.Results A total of 15 research articles were included.Meta-analysis results show that education level,BMI,and exercise habits are protective factors for frailty in the elderly with comorbidities;age,living alone,degree of comorbidities,heart failure,COPD,tumors,and cognitive dysfunction are risk factors for frailty among the elderly with comorbidities.Conclusion The occurrence of frailty among hospitalized elderly people with comorbidities is affected by sociodemographic factors,clinical factors and lifestyle fac-tors.Healthcare professionals could develop strategies for the prevention and treatment of frailty in older people with multimorbidity by intervening in adverse factors to reduce the occurrence ofilty.The findings of this study may be limited by the number and quality of the included literature,and more high—quality studies are needed to validate the findings.关键词
