Abstract

In order to investigated the effects of reducing fertilizer and dosage combined with biochar and organic substrate application on soil characteristics and physiological characteristics of facility cucumber in continuous cropping,a greenhouse experiment was conducted from 2022 to 2024,The cucumber plot with continuous cropping for 3 years was selected as the research object.Six treatments were set up,including single application of fertilizer(CK),fertilizer+organic substrate(FS),50%fertilizer+biochar(FB1),75%fertilizer+biochar(FB2),50%fertilizer+biochar+50%organic substrate(FBS 1),and 75%fertilizer+biochar+50%organic substrate(FBS2),to explored the changes of different fertil-ization conditions on soil physical and chemical properties,enzyme activity,root system activity,leaf physiological characteristics,and yield.The main results are as follows:Compared with the CK,with time running after fertilizati(in 2024),the FBS1 treatment significantly increased the soil field water holding capacity and porosity by 7.95%and 3.27%,the soil alkaline phosphatase and urease activity significantly increased by 11.93%and 14.75%,the leaf transpiration rate,stomatal conductance,net photosynthetic rate,and SPAD value significantly increased by 10.98%,46.15%,17.65%,and 9.49%,and the leaf peroxidase activity significantly increased by 16.14%,respectively.The FBS2 treatment significantly increased the soil alkaline hydrolyzable nitrogen,available phosphorus,and available potassium content by 8.07%,10.96%,and 7.39%,the soil sucrase and dehydrogenase activity significantly increased by 17.96%and 28.35%.The FBS1 and FBS2 treatment could significantly increase the cucumber yield.Comprehensive the above-mentioned results,reduced application of fertilizers and substrates combination with biochar could improve the soil properties,increase the soil nutrient content and enzyme activity,promote the root nutrient absorption and utilization,delay the leaf senescence,enhance the leaf photosynthesis efficiency and stress resistance,increase the cucumber yield.Among them,the FBS1 treat-ment has the best overall performance.
