Abstract

Promoting green and low-carbon utilization of cultivated land has become a cutting-edge scientific issue in balancing food security with continuously improving environmental quality.Agricultural socialized services optimize the input-output ratio of cultivated land by introducing green technology and environmental factors,which has important practical implications for improving the green uti-lization efficiency of cultivated land and promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of cultivated land.Based on panel data from 31 provinces in China from 2004 to 2022,this study formulated an evaluation index incorporating"carbon sequestration and sink enhancement"as the expected output and"non-point source pollution of cultivated land"and"carbon emissions"in agricultural pro-duction as the unexpected output to measure the green and low-carbon utilization of cultivated land.It also employed the Super-EBM model to measure the green and low-carbon utilization of cultivated land.The panel regression model,the moderating effect model,the mediating effect model,and the spatial Durbin model were used to test the influence mechanisms and spatial spillover effects of agricul-tural socialized services in driving green and low-carbon utilization of cultivated land.The results showed that:① During the study peri-od,the level of green and low-carbon utilization of cultivated land in China exhibited a fluctuating upward trend,which was consistent with the changing trends of the level of agricultural socialized services.The high-value areas of green and low-carbon utilization of culti-vated land were primarily distributed in major grain-producing areas,while low-value areas were mainly distributed in areas with bal-anced production and sales.② The provision of socialized agricultural services had a positive and significant impact on the green and low-carbon utilization of cultivated land,with agricultural subsidies playing a positive moderating role.③ The impact of socialized agri-cultural services on green and low-carbon utilization of cultivated land had a positive spatial spillover effect,which not only promoted the impact of green and low-carbon utilization of cultivated land within the region but also remained a significant impact on neighboring areas.Therefore,this study proposes that the"dual-scale"business model should be appropriately promoted while continuing to ad-vance socialized agricultural services.Furthermore,enhanced financial support for agricultural policies,targeted agricultural subsidies,and guided inter-provincial exchanges of agricultural technology and services should be implemented to achieve the two-way green coor-dinated development between local and neighboring areas.
