Abstract

Objective To analyze the impact of stratified dietary management based on the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index(GNRI)on the nutritional status of elderly patients with maintenance hemodialysis(MHD).Methods Sixty elderly patients with MHD admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical University from January to September 2023 were randomly divided into an observation group(30 cases)and a control group(30 cases)using a simple randomization method and a random number table.Both groups received routine nursing care and dietary management,while the observation group received an additional stratified dietary management based on GNRI.The nutritional status and other conditions of the two groups were compared.Results The levels of serum albumin,prealbumin,and total protein,as well as the scores of various dimensions of the Attitude Scale for the Dietary Therapy of Hemodialysis Patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group after 3 months of intervention(P<0.05),and the indicators and scores of both groups increased at the above time points compared to before intervention(P<0.05).Compared to the control group,the observation group had a lower proportion of pre-frail patients after 3 months of intervention,and a lower overall incidence of complications during the intervention period(P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing stratified dietary management based on GNRI can help improve the nutritional status,dietary treatment attitude,and frailty status of elderly MHD patients,and reduce the incidence of complications during intervention.
