Comprehensive evaluation and probability grading of 32 Morus alba germplasm resources

Abstract

[Objective]The study aimed to screen out superior M.alba germplasm resources,and preliminarily established the probability grading evaluation method of M.alba germplasm resources.[Method]The 32 M.alba germplasm resources stored in the M.alba germplasm resource bank of Henan Province were selected as the research objects.The phenotypic traits and main nutrient components of them were measured.The germplasm resources were comprehensively evaluated by principal component analysis and membership function value method.The grading and evaluation method was established of M.alba germplasm resources using probability grading method.[Result]There were differences in phenotypic traits and nutritional components among different M.alba germplasm,and there were significant differences among some varieties.'A18','Zhongshen 1'and'Yunsang 2'performed better in phenotypic traits.The comprehensive nutritional quality of'Dabaie','Riben Tiancheng'and'Guoxuan 1'were superior.The content of theanine in'Wanguo 2'(8.07 μg/g)was the highest,followed by'Jialing 40'(6.51 μg/g)and'Hongmanao'(5.45 μg/g).The content of resveratrol in'Guoxuan 2'(25.14 μg/g)was the highest,followed by'72C002'(17.04 μg/g)and'Heizhenzhu'(15.59 μg/g).The comprehensive scoring of principal components of'Guoxuan 2','Riben Tiancheng','A18','Big white goose','Wanguo 2'and'Guoxuan 1'were higher.Tree height,ground diameter,leaf area,soluble sugar,total flavonoids and total polyphenol were selected to represent the phenotypic traits and main nutrient components of M.alba germplasm resources.The germplasm resources were classified into three grades by two grade points,that is((X)-0.524 6S)and((X)+0.524 6S)using probability grading method.The results of probability grading of 32 germplasm resources and the results of principal component analysis were basically similar.[Conclusion]There was big difference among germplasm resources in phenotypic traits and nutritional components,which shows greater potential in the selection of superior germplasm in tea use and medicinal use.Among them,'Wanguo 2'contained the highest theanine content,and could be considered as a tea use variety.The resveratrol content of'Guoxuan 2'was the highest,the comprehensive scoring of principal components ranked first,and it could be selected as medicinal use and comprehensive utilization.Probability grading method of M.alba germplasm resources was established preliminarily,which provided reference to the identification and evaluation of M.alba germplasm resources.
