Role of Oxidative Stress in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment:A Review
摘要
Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)is an important cause of female infertility worldwide.It is characterized by hy-perandrogenism(HA),insulin resistance(IR),obesity,ovulation disorder and infertility,often accompanied by metabolic syn-drome and chronic low-grade inflammation,which seriously affects women's physical and mental health.The disease is affected by a variety of factors,and its etiology and pathogenesis are not clear.Oxidative stress(OS)refers to the imbalance between the oxidative system and antioxidant system in the human body.Studies have found that OS is closely related to the occurrence and development of PCOS,and can drive other pathological mechanisms to promote the development of PCOS,such as mitochondrial dysfunction and inflammatory response.This article summarized the correlation between OS and the main clinical symptoms of P-COS,and summed up the traditional Chinese medicine monomer,traditional Chinese medicine compound,Chinese patent medi-cine,acupuncture and moxibustion to reduce the status of OS in patients and improve the clinical symptoms of PCOS patients,in order to expand the application range of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of PCOS and provide reliable scientific theo-retical basis.关键词
