Abstract
Objective To evaluate diagnostic values of video head pulse test(vHIT)in detecting semicircular canals dysfunction in Meniere's disease(MD)and vestibular neuritis(VN).Methods From December 2017 to December 2023,116 patients with unilateral MD and 34 patients with VN who were diagnosed at the vertigo department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were recruited.Semicircular canals functions were tested by caloric test and video head impulse test.Results vHIT results were abnormal in 25.86%of patients with unilateral MD,and 94.1%of patients with VN.The horizontal canal was involved in 17 patients,vertical canal in 2 patients and posterior canal in 8 patients with unilateral MD.In VN,the horizontal canal was indicated in 32 cases,vertical canal in 16 cases,and posterior canal in 18 cases.Conclusion vHIT can show different sensitivity in detecting dysfunction of different semicircular canals in MD and VN,with sensitivity for the horizontal semicircular canal being the highest and that for the vertical semicircular canals the lowest.The rate of abnormal vHIT increases as the severity of semicircular canals dysfunction increases.关键词
