Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of early essential newborn care(EENC)on the health indicators and breast-feeding of term infants through spontaneous vaginal delivery. Methods A total of 128 newborns at SanMing First Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were enrolled as the subjects of study and were divided into a control group and an observation group using a random draw, with 64 cases in each group. The control group received routine care, while the observation group received EENC.The health indicators of newborns,breast-feeding status, and incidence of adverse events of newborns between the two groups were compared. Results There was no statistically significant difference in body temperatures between the two groups of newborns at birth(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the newborns in the observation group exhibited higher body temperature at 1 h and 2 h after birth, shorter the umbilical cord shedding time, earlier time for the first breast-feeding,longer duration for the first breast-feeding,higher success rate of the first breast-feeding and the rate of exclusive breast-feeding one month after discharge, and lower overall incidence of adverse events of newborns. The above comparisons were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion EENC can improve the health indicators and breast-feeding of term infants through spontaneous vaginal delivery, and reduce the incidence of adverse events of newborns.关键词
