The Effects of Different Hormone Treatments and Substrate-supplemented Rooting Agents on the Rooting of Corylus heterophylla Cuttage

Abstract
In order to improve the rooting rate of Corylus heterophylla cuttage,a comparative analysis was conducted on the effectiveness of va-rious treatments following hormone application prior to planting.The optimal type of hormone,its concentration,and treatment duration were i-dentified,leading to the selection of an ideal protocol for pre-planting treatment of the cuttage.Subsequently,five categories comprising nine distinct rooting agents with varying active ingredients were applied to the substrate to facilitate rooting.The most suitable rooting agent for sup-plementary application on the substrate was determined based on its impact on Corylus heterophylla cuttage success rates.The findings indicated that treating Corylus heterophylla cuttage with an 800 mg/L IBA solution for 180 minutes before planting,followed by spraying the substrate with a plant hormone-based rooting agent known as roots alive,significantly enhanced the rooting rate.This approach yielded a markedly higher success rate compared to other treatments;specifically,it achieved a 17%increase over control treatments that did not include supplementary spraying of a rooting agent on the substrate.关键词
