摘要

Abstract

Based on the panel data from 35 major and medium-sized cities in China from 2011 to 2022,this paper examines the impact of digital finance on the residents' housing affordability.The findings reveal that digital finance can significantly improve residents' housing affordability by stimulating residents' entrepreneurship,promoting residents' financial management,and pro-moting residents' employment,and also plays a greater role in improving the housing affordabili-ty of groups with weak housing affordability,as well as residents in central and western regions.Moreover,the breadth of digital financial coverage has a greater impact on residents' housing af-fordability than the depth of use and the degree of digitization.In view of this,it is recommended that the construction of digital financial infrastructure should be improved,and that digital finan-cial application scenarios be expanded.Different policies should be implemented for different cit-ies to promote the balanced development of digital finance.The interaction between traditional and digital finance should be strengthened to collaboratively improve the ability of residents to purchase homes.
