Abstract

Objective To analyze the expression of mitochondrial calcium uniporter regulator 1(MCUR1)in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)and its clinical significance.Methods Immu-nohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of MCUR1 protein in TNBC tissues and corre-sponding adjacent tissues of 98 patients.The relationship between MCUR1 expression in tumor tissues and patients'clinicopathological features and overall survival was further analyzed.Results MCUR1 was overexpressed in TNBC,and its expression level was significantly higher than that in the adja-cent tissues(t=34.58,P<0.01).Clinicopathological analysis showed that high MCUR1 expres-sion in TNBC was significantly correlated with tumor grade,T stage,and TNM stage(P<0.05,respectively).Further survival analysis showed that patients with high expression level of MCUR1 had a lower overall survival rate than those with low expression level(x2=4.591,P=0.032),which was an independent risk factor for poor prognosis of TNBC(HR=2.106,95%CI:1.013-5.628,P=0.035).Conclusion The expression of MCUR1 in TNBC tissues is up-regulated,and its high expression is associated with tumor progression and poor prognosis,which is a potential bio-marker to evaluate the prognosis of TNBC patients.
