Mechanism of apatite nucleation and growth induced by tricalcium silicate biomaterials
摘要
Abstract
This study investigated the dynamic deposition process of apatite on the surface of hydrated Ca3SiO5.The content change of multi-ions of simulated body fluid(SBF)after Ca3SiO5 immersion was also measured.Moreover,the mechanism of apatite mineralization on the surface of Ca3SiO5 was revealed.The results showed that the spherical apatite was formed on the surface of Ca3SiO5 after soaking in SBF for 0.5 h.The content of apatite on the substrate gradually increased with the soaking time to form a dense apatite mineralized layer,which displayed a typical lath-like structure.The hy-dration products of Ca3SiO5 continuously released Ca2+ions into SBF and then attracted electrostati-cally HPO42-ions.When SBF at the liquid-solid interface was supersaturated with apatite crystals,they nucleated on the surface of Ca3SiO5 and grew along the c-axis via the layer-layer pattern to form a dense apatite layer.Therefore,the Ca element in SBF was continuously increased while P element decreased.关键词
