Abstract

A two-factor split zone experiment was conducted using the dual-purpose wheat variety Fumai 666 as the experimental material.Four nitrogen application rate levels,N1(150 kg/hm2),N2(225 kg/hm2),N3(300 kg/hm2),and N4(375 kg/hm2),and three nitrogen fertilizer management methods,T1(base fertilizer:jointing fertilizer:panicle fertilizer=10∶0∶0),T2(base fertilizer:jointing fertilizer:panicle fertilizer=7∶3∶0),and T3(base fertilizer:jointing fertilizer:panicle fertilizer=6∶2∶2),were set up.The N0(0 kg/hm2)treatment without nitrogen fertilizer was used as the control.The effects of nitrogen application rate and nitrogen fertilizer management on the agronomic and yield traits,as well as grain quality of dual-purpose wheat for brewing and eating were investigated.The results showed that increasing the application of nitrogen fertilizer and the proportion of base fertilizer were beneficial for increasing the number of tillers,the highest number of tillers,and the number of effective panicles.However,excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer resulted in a decrease in spike length,number of fertile spikelets,number of grains per spike,thousand-grain weight and grain yield.Increasing the nitrogen application rate and the proportion of jointing fertilizer and panicle fertilizer can improve the grain hardness index,crude protein,and wet gluten content,but the effect on bulk density is not significant with the increase of nitrogen application rate.Based on the comprehensive experimental results,when the nitrogen application rate is 225 kg/hm2 and the base fertilizer:jointing fertilizer:ear fertilizer ratio is 7∶3∶0(N2T2),the yield of the dual-purpose wheat variety Fumai 666 increases the most.At the same time,the grain hardness index is low,and the bulk density,protein and wet gluten content are suitable for the quality requirements of koji making.
