Abstract

In order to study the effect of sowing date on starch granule size distribution of strong gluten wheat under the background of climate warming,the grain size distribution of four strong gluten wheat varieties,such as Yangguang 10(Y10),Luyuan 502(L502),Yannong 999(Y999)and Shannong 28(S28),were determined by laser grain size analyzer under three sowing periods of October 10(conventional sowing date),October 17(suitable late sowing date)and October 24(late sowing date).The results showed that the starch grains of Y10,L502,Y999 and S28 were mainly distributed in the range of 0.7~3.0 µm,and the percentage of starch grains of Y10,L502,Y999 and S28 showed unimodal distribution,while the percentage of surface area and volume distribution showed bimodal distribution.The proportion of B-type starch granules in strong gluten wheat was significantly increased by suitable late sowing,and the B-type starch granules of strong gluten wheat Y10,L502,Y999 and S28 were significantly positively correlated with the dough rheological quality.Therefore,in order to cope with the impact of high temperature stress brought by global warming,we are expected to improve the grain quality of strong gluten wheat by suitable late sowing.
