摘要

Abstract

The value of wooden furniture is widely recognized for its intrinsic qualities and versatile applications,underlining the paramount importance of preserving or enhancing the value of timber to promote sustainable industry growth and maintain businesses competitiveness.Microcapsule materials are characterized by their shell-core structures with resilient walls.The wall material is tough enough to accommodate the core material without reacting with it.These microcontainers encapsulate sensitive or volatile external substances,thereby increasing the specific surface area of the material,extending the longevity of core materials,and expanding the range of functionalities.Microcapsule technology is currently experiencing broader adoption within the wood sector,with diverse core materials serving varied functional purposes.Integration of microcapsules into wood occurs through impregnation,coating,or hot-pressing gluing methods,facilitating diverse applications.For instance,core materials embedded with antibacterial agents give wood antiseptic and antibacterial properties.Magnetic microcapsules integrated into wooden materials offer protection against electromagnetic radiation,while color-changing microcapsules in wood coatings enable color shifts allow for alteration in response to temperature fluctuations.Microcapsules loaded with phase change materials enable surface temperature adjustment or contribute to energy storage capabilities,such as forming energy storage floors.Moreover,microcapsules coated with flame retardants can be utilized to create flame retardant coatings or applied in the production of flame-retardant wood boards.We discussed the response types and core wall materials of microcapsules,outlined and looked forward to the functional applications of microcapsule technology in wood coating self-healing,phase change energy storage,formaldehyde adsorption,anti-fungal and anti-bacterial aspects,and proposed solutions to address the shortcomings of various functional applications.Finally,regarding the application of microcapsule technology in wooden materials,the following prospects were proposed:developing multifunctional composite microcapsules tailored to the characteristics of wooden materials,extending the efficacy period of microcapsules,achieving controlled release of microcapsule wall materials,and enhancing the intelligent regulation of wooden materials through microcapsules.These advancements aimed to prolong the lifespan of wood,enhanced its environmental adaptability and durability,thereby opening new possibilities in the field of wood industry applications.
