Abstract
Aim To investigate the correlation between oral candida load and immune factors in men who have sex with men-human immuno-deficiency virus/acquired immunedeficiency syndrome(MSM-HIV/AIDS)patients during highly active anti-retroviral therapy(HAART).Methods A total of 216 MSM-HIV/AIDS patients(case group)and 184 healthy males(control group)were enrolled.Flow cytometry was used to detect CD4+T lymphocytes(CD4+),CD8+T lymphocytes(CD8+),and CD4+/CD8+ra-tio.Real-time quantitative PCR was performed to measure oral candida load.The correlation between immune indicators and candi-da load at baseline and 3,6,12 months after HAART was analyzed.Multivariate Logistic regression was used to identify risk factors for oral candidiasis(OC).Results The case group had lower baseline CD4+and CD4+/CD8+,but higher CD8+than the control group(all P＜0.05).After HAART,CD4+and CD4+/CD8+were increased,while CD8+were decreased in the case group(P＜0.05).Baseline candida load and OC incidence were higher in the case group(P＜0.05),but gradually decreased after HAART(P＜0.05).Oral candida load was negatively correlated with CD4+and CD4+/CD8+(P＜0.05).Patients with CD4+＜200 cells/μL had higher OC incidence(P＜0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that CD4+and CD4+/CD8+were independent protective factors a-gainst OC(P＜0.05).Conclusion Oral candida load is associated with immune status in MSM-HIV/AIDS patients.HAART can improve immune function and reduce candida load,suggesting OC as a potential monitoring indicator for immune reconstitution.关键词
