Adsorption and Partition Behavior of Dissolved Diarrhetic Shellfish Toxins on Suspended Particulate and Sediment Medium
摘要
Abstract
Diarrhetic shellfish toxins(DSTs)are a group of lipophilic marine phycotoxins produced by Dinophysis spp.and Prorocentrum spp.,which are widely distributed in marine environments and po-tentially threaten the sustainable development of mariculture and the health of marine ecosystems. The current understanding of the transport partition processes of the dissolved DSTs in marine environments is very limited. Therefore, two typical components of DSTs toxins, okadaic acid(OA)and dinophysis-toxin-1(DTX1),were selected in this study. The adsorption behavior of toxins by suspended particu-late matter(SPM)and surface sediments in Jiaozhou Bay and the partitioning behavior of toxins in the sedimentary environment of the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea,China, were investigated through indoor simulation experiments and investigation of field sediment samples. The results showed that SPM and surface sediments were weakly adsorbed for OA(5.70%and 17.80%)and DTX1(17.12%and 20.64%),and the adsorption isotherms were consistent with the Langmuir model and the Freundlich model, respectively. The concentrations of OA and DTX1 in the sedimentary interstitial water of the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea,China, were significantly higher than those in surface seawater. The mean partition fraction(φP)of DSTs in the depositional environment is 84.64%.The results of this study provide the scientific basis for further understanding of the environmental fate of DSTs in marine envi-ronments,which is markedly significant for protection of the health of marine ecosystems.关键词
