Abstract

Carbon dioxide geological storage is internationally recognised as one of the main ways to permanently reduce emissions,and the suitability assessment is the premise and foundation for realising the scale and industrialisation of carbon dioxide geological storage.In Hebei Province,CO2 emissions are large and concentrated,and the stratigraphy of the Hebei Plain is relatively stable,which generally has favourable geological elements for CO2 storage in the saline aquifer,but the suitability evaluation of CO2 geological storage has not been carried out in the past.This paper takes the five-level tectonic units in Hebei Plain as the research object,and constructs a CO2 geological storage suitability evaluation system consisting of 2 first-level indexes and 15 second-level indexes from the consideration of geological features and storage and cover features,and adopts the hierarchical analysis-comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate the suitability of the five-level tectonic units in the study area.Considering the distribution of emission sources,sequestration potential,sequestration suitability and other conditions,source-sink matching is carried out.The results show that Qiuxian depression,Jinzhou depression,Raoyang depression,Baoding depression,Nanpi depression,and Nanpu depression are preferred as the target areas to carry out the construction of large-scale carbon sequestration demonstration project.
