Sedimentary characteristics and sand control factors of shallow water delta under source-sink system constraints:a case study of Huagang formation in A structure,Xihu Sag

Abstract
Comprehensive utilization of analytical data such as laboratory tests,well logging,and seismic profiles,this study established classification criteria for shallow-water delta depositional systems in the study area under source-to-sink system constraints by applying high-resolution sequence stratigraphy and seismic sedimentology theories.It delineated the sedimentary characteristics and evolutionary sequences of the study area,thereby clarifying the sand-control patterns.The main conclusions are as follows:① The Huagang formation in Structure A received multi-directional sediment supplies from the Diaoyu Island fold-uplift belt to the east,the Haijiao uplift to the west,and the Hupijiao uplift to the north.② The early deposition of the upper section of the Huagang formation(H5 sand group)corresponds to the early rise of the mid-term base level,and the development of leafy shallow-water delta front deposits;the middle sedimentary period of the upper section of Huagang formation(H4 sand group)is from the late stage of base level rise to the early stage of decline,and the development of delta is limited;the middle and late deposition of the upper section of the Huagang formation(H3 sand group)corresponds to the middle and late stage of the base level decline and accepts the delta plain deposition;the final deposition stage of the upper Huagang formation(H1-H2 sand group)is a long-term rapid decline stage of the base level,and the development of meandering river-reticulate river deposits.③ The enrichment law of sand body in the study area is controlled by the change of base level,the strength of source supply and the change of landform slope.关键词
