摘要

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effects of selenium-enriched grub powder on the laying performance,egg quality,serum biochemical indices,cecal short-chain fatty acid,and antioxidant function in heat stressed laying hens.A total of 360 laying hens were divided into four groups,with six replicates per group and 15 hens per replicate.The control group was fed a basal diet,while the grub powder group,sodium selenite group,and selenium-enriched grub powder group were supplemented with ordinary grub powder,ordinary grub powder+sodium selenite,and selenium-enriched grub powder,respectively.The trial lasted 42 days.Results showed that compared to the control group,the selenium-enriched grub powder group exhibited significantly increased average egg weight and laying rate(P<0.05),and significantly reduced feed-to-egg ratio and broken egg rate(P<0.05).Compared to the control group,the selenium-enriched grub powder group showed significantly higher Haugh unit,eggshell thickness,eggshell ratio,yolk ratio,and selenium content(P<0.05),but a significantly lower albumen ratio(P<0.05).Serum aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)levels were significantly reduced(P<0.05),while total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),globulin(GLB),and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)levels were significantly increased in the selenium-enriched grub powder group(P<0.05).Additionally,the concentrations of acetic acid,butyric acid,propionic acid,valeric acid,isovaleric acid,and isobutyric acid in the cecum were significantly reduced(P<0.05).Compared to the control group,the sodium selenite and selenium-enriched grub powder groups displayed significantly enhanced hepatic glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activity(P<0.05).The study indicates that dietary supplementation with selenium-enriched grub powder modulates the laying performance,egg quality,biochemical indices,cecal short-chain fatty acid content,and antioxidant function in laying hens under heat stress.
