Abstract

The experiment induced enteritis in Micropterus salmoides by injecting 7.5%2,4-dinitrobenzenesulfonic acid(DNBS),and explored the therapeutic effect of adding seaweed polysaccharides to the compound feed on Micropterus salmoides with enteritis.A total of 120 Micropterus salmoides weighing approximately 25 g are selected and randomly divided into two groups,with three replicates in each group,and 20 fish in each replicate.The D0 group was fed a basal diet,while the D2 group is fed a diet supplemented with 2‰ seaweed polysaccharides.The pre-test period was one week,the formal test period was two weeks.The results showed that compared to the D0 group,the D2 group exhibited no significant difference in growth performance(P>0.05),serum albumin(ALB)levels were significantly increased(P<0.05),and serum interleukin-6(IL-6)levels were significantly decreased(P<0.05).In the anterior intestine,glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and catalase(CAT)activities were significantly increased(P<0.05),while myeloperoxidase(MPO)activity,malondialdehyde(MDA)levels,and endotoxin(LPS)content were significantly reduced(P<0.05).The intestinal villi in the posterior intestine were more intact,and the thickness of the intestinal wall muscle layer was increased.The D2 group significantly downregulated the mRNA expression of pro-inflammatory factors tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and IL-6(P<0.05),while upregulating the mRNA expression of anti-inflammatory factors interleukin-10(IL-10),hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF),short-chain fatty acid receptor 3(FFAR3),and intestinal epithelial mucin-2(MUCIN-2)(P<0.05).The abundance of certain bacterial genera,including Methyloversatilis,Cetobacterium,Corynebacterium and the pathogenic genus Plesiomonas was significantly reduced while the abundance of the beneficial genus Clostridium was significantly increased.No significant differences were observed in the content of Gram-positive bacteria,Gram-negative bacteria,or potential pathogens in the gut(P>0.05).The study indicates that dietary supplementation with 2‰ seaweed polysaccharides enhances the antioxidant capacity of Micropterus salmoides with enteritis,reduces intestinal inflammation,improves intestinal histomorphology and microbiota structure,and exhibits therapeutic effects against enteritis in Micropterus salmoides.
