Abstract

Steel truss bridges are widely used in both railway and urban rail transit systems.Previous studies on vehicle-bridge vibrations primarily focused on the bridge structure,neglecting the effect of track structure vibrations.In many cases,the entire steel rail-sleeper-ballast system was treated as a secondary dead load applied to the bridge.However,with the widespread application of various track structures in modern railways and phenomena such as dynamic gauge widening under high-speed conditions,the relationship between wheels and rails has become increasingly complex.To more accurately evaluate train derailment safety and operational stability on bridges,it is necessary to consider the effect of track structure vibrations in the model.This study addressed the gap in existing vehicle-bridge vibration studies that neglect track vibration reduction structures.Taking a steel truss bridge for rail-road use in an urban rail transit system as an example,this study,based on finite element theory and vehicle-track-bridge coupling vibration analysis,investigated the dynamic performance of the bridge and the safety and ride comfort of train operations under different track vibration reduction types and operating conditions.The vertical and lateral dynamic displacements at the mid span of the bridge,as well as the indicators of safety and ride comfort for locomotives and vehicles,were calculated.The results provide a basis for selecting track types for rail-road bridges and serve as a reference for selecting track vibration reduction structures for future large-span steel truss bridges.
