Epidemiological Investigation on an Outbreak of Ovine Brucellosis in Hubei Province
摘要
Abstract
In February 2023,an outbreak of ovine brucellosis occurred in a sheep household in Hubei Province,thereafter,the farmer was diagnosed positive for brucellosis in May.In order to investigate the causes and to identify the sources of the pathogen,an emergency epidemiological investigation was conducted.It was investigated that the outbreak was likely to be caused by introduction of unquarantined rams that carried bacteria and were mixed with other sheep,without any isolation or observation.Then the bacteria spread within the farm due to improper treatment of stillbirths,apoblemas and feces,while operators without biosafety awareness were infected due to close contact with sick sheep.In conclusion,entry outbreak should be prevented as far as possible through training on prevention and control of brucellosis to improve operators'awareness of biosafety and reporting any abnormal cases,quarantine and supervision for sheep,and strict implementation of animal quarantine and isolation measures.关键词
