Challenges and Impacts of the Widespread Transmission of H5N1 Subtype HPAIV Clade 2.3.4.4b on"One Health"
摘要
Abstract
Global wild birds,poultry and wild mammals had been severely threatened by evolution of H5N1 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza(H5N1 subtype HPAI)at the levels of epidemiology and ecology.The H5N1 subtype avian influenza virus(AIV),originating from poultry,had spread globally via wild birds,infecting an increasing number of mammal and avian species.In 2024,H5N1 subtype AIV Clade 2.3.4.4b spread among dairy cattle,even resulting in human cases.The ecological changes of H5N1 subtype HPAI posed significant challenges to wildlife,ecosystems,livestock,food safety and human health.Consequently,cooperation and coordination were needed among the departments responsible for animals,environment and human health,by whom the"One Health"strategy should be adopted to prevent any H5N1 subtype HPAI pandemic.Measures should be taken to block any HPAI transmission among livestock,wildlife and human,the upstream factors driving the disease outbreak should be concerned to timely respond to any zoonotic disease,followed by a risk evaluation,and thus to mitigate any potential disease risk.关键词
