Advances in Mammalian Tuberculosis Vaccines
摘要
Abstract
Tuberculosis(TB)caused by members of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex is an important zoonotic disease,which could be effectively prevented and controlled through immunization in mammals,rather than a single"detection-culling"strategy.However,only badger BCG vaccine was approved by the UK government,while others were still under development,let alone putting into use.For mammalian tuberculosis vaccines,live attenuated vaccines were mainly researched,while inactivated vaccines were only for domestic pigs and wild boars;challenge tests were mainly conducted,with a small number of field trials;the effects of different types of vaccines with different immunization routes,doses and processes were the priorities to be researched;BCG injection vaccines for domestic animals and BCG oral vaccines for wild animals were expected to be put into use as soon as possible.Here,the advances of TB vaccines for domestic animals and wild animals as well as the broad-spectrum TB vaccines for human and mammals were reviewed in terms of the types of vaccines,routes,processes and effects of immunization,with a view to providing a reference for the research and development of animal TB vaccines.关键词
