Abstract
In order to analyze the species composition and diversity distribution characteristics of oral microbiota in captive Western Pacific spotted seals,relevant samples were collected from such captive seals using disposable flocking swabs to extract total nucleic acids,and microbiota abundance and species were identified through high-throughput sequencing.The results showed that 418 genera,217 families,126 orders,53 classes and 28 phyla were covered by the microbiota contained in the samples;Bacteroidota(33.76%),Proteobacteria(28.07%),Fusobacteriota(22.59%),Firmicutes(8.35%),Actinobacteria(2.42%),Patescibacteria(2.22%)and Campilobacterota(1.00%)with high abundance accounted for over 98%of the total oral microbiome in the samples.858,910,806 and 892 species were respectively identified from the samples numbered Xin1,CB1,XB2 and DD2,368 of them were shared by 4 samples,accounting for approximately 10.6%of all detected species.In addition,216,330,204 and 238 species were unique to samples Xin1,CB1,XB2 and DD2,respectively.In conclusion,the oral microbiota in captive Western Pacific spotted seals was with high diversity,and there were certain common or specific characteristics in different seals under the same captive environment.A theoretical basis was provided for the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases in captive spotted seals.关键词
