Abstract
AIM The study aims to develop a multidimensional,individualized approach to pharmaceutical care for breast cancer patients experiencing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting(CINV),led by clinical pharmacists in collaboration with physicians and patients,and to evaluate its effectiveness.METHODS A prospective cohort study was conducted from January 2023 to March 2024,enrolling 60 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in the breast surgery department.The patients were randomly assigned to the pharmaceutical care group(n=30)and control group(n=30).The control group received conventional interventions.The pharmaceutical care group received tailored multidimensional interventions for CINV.The interventions included clinical pharmacists' participation in formulating and optimizing CINV prevention and treatment plans,pre-and post-chemotherapy medication counseling,educational sessions on CINV management,and psychological-behavioral therapy.The effectiveness of the pharmaceutical care was evaluated by comparing guideline adherence and prescription rationality for CINV management,as well as the incidence of CINV,medication adherence,and patient satisfaction between the 2 groups.RESULTS The pharmaceutical care group demonstrated significantly higher scores in guideline adherence and prescription rationality for CINV-related guidelines compared to the control group(P＜0.01).The incidence rates of acute CINV and delayed CINV were both significantly lower in the pharmaceutical care group(P＜0.05).Additionally,medication adherence and patient satisfaction were superior in the pharmaceutical care group(P＜0.01).CONCLUSION The multidimensional pharmaceutical care model for CINV in breast cancer significantly optimizes medication practices,reduces CINV risk,and improves patient adherence and satisfaction.关键词
