Political Ritual Settings as Symbolic Resources in the Construction of National Identity:A Power-Based Perspective
摘要
Abstract
National identity refers to citizens' recognition of the legitimacy of state authority and their affective orientation toward the imagined community of the nation,encompassing both political and cultural dimensions.As a critical form of political symbolism embedded within political systems,political ritual scenes continuously provide symbolic political resources for national identity construction.From the perspective of political legitima-cy,political ritual scenes cultivate substantive symbols through diachronic cultural environments,exhibit institu-tional symbols in synchronic political frameworks,and highlight ideological symbols within immediate event con-texts,thereby facilitating the production and reproduction of state power.From a cultural identity lens,political ritual scenes-manifested as topographical scenes(spatial arrangements),atmospheric scenes(emotional ambi-ance),and discursive scenes(narrative-driven contexts)—leverage the hierarchical structural elements of national identity:cognition,emotion,and behavior.Specifically,topographical scenes construct grand narra-tives and hierarchical power orders to shape collective cognition;atmospheric scenes fulfill aspirational ideals of role models to consolidate emotional cohesion;and discursive scenes leverage symbolic mapping and behavioral norms to finalize the production of symbolic power,ultimately advancing the formation of national identity.关键词
