Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Zheng's 'Two Dragons Playing with Pearl' acupuncture in treatment of optic atrophy(OA).Methods:66 OA patients were randomly divided into the acupuncture group(27 cases of one eye and 6 cases of both eyes)and the medication group(26 cases of one eye and 7 cases of both eyes),with 33 cases in each group.The medication group was treated with Oral Cytarabine Sodium Capsule(0.2 g,3 times daily for 4 weeks)and Compound Ginkgo Biloba Tablet(2 Tablet,twice daily for 4 weeks).The acupuncture group was treated with Zheng's 'Two Dragons Playing with Pearls' needling Taiyang(EX-HN9),30 min needle retention each time,once a day,each course lasted 7 days,with a total of 4 courses.Visual acuity,visual field mean deviation(MD),visual field pattern standard deviation(PSD),and retinal nerve fibre layer(RNFL)thickness were observed in both groups,and the clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate was 86％(44/50)in the acupuncture group,which was higher than 54％(26/50)in the medication group(P＜0.05).The visual acuity was significantly improved and the intraocular pressure was significantly reduced(P＜0.05),and the visual field MD and PSD were significantly improved after the treatment compared to those before the treatment in both groups(P＜0.05).Compared with those in the medication group,the visual acuity was significantly improved and intraocular pressure was significantly reduced(P＜0.05),the visual field MD and PSD were significantly improved(P＜0.05),and the thickness of the nerve fibre layer of the optic disc in the supratemporal side,infratemporal side and nasal side was increased in the acupuncture group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Zheng's 'Two Dragons Playing with Pearls' acupuncture method can effectively improve the visual acuity of OA patients,reduce the intraocular pressure,improve the range of visual field,and repair the damage to RNFL in optic disc region,which is worthy of further promotion in the clinic.关键词
