The potential action mechanism of acupuncture on posterior circulation ischemic vertigo based on the theory of"brain-gut axis"

Abstract
Posterior circulation ischemia is a kind of ischemic cerebrovascular disease caused by the narrowing of blood vessels in the posterior circulation system,with a high clinical incidence.Posterior circulation ischemic vertigo(PCIV)is the main clinical manifestation of posterior circulation ischemia,and is often repeated and difficult to cure,which is regarded as a malignant sign of infarction.However,it is often overlooked by patients in the early stage due to mild initial symptoms.Early intervention is particularly important for preventing cerebrovascular diseases.Intestinal flora is a complex microbial system in the intestines that is linked to the brain via the brain-gut axis.Through in-depth research on intestinal flora,it has been demonstrated that intestinal flora is closely associated with the occurrence and development of posterior circulation ischemia and its high-risk factors.Acupuncture,as a treasure of TCM can not only regulate intestinal flora but also prevent and treat cerebrovascular diseases.In view of this situation,combining with the theory of traditional Chinese medicine's visceral channels and collaterals,from the perspective of intestinal flora and high-risk factors for posterior circulation ischemia,the potential action mechanism of acupuncture on PCIV is explored based on the theory of brain-gut axis.关键词
