长白山阔叶林树种组成变化与生长特征
The growth and population dynamics of broadleaved forest in Changbai Mountain

Abstract
[Objective]This study aimed to investigate the long-term dynamics of broad-leaved forests in Changbai Mountain.[Method]Based on three vegetation surveys(1981-2022)from a permanent plot(0.89 hm2)on the northern slope of Changbai Mountain,the community structure and dynamics were analyzed in terms of species composition,diameter class structure,species diversity,and population growth rates.[Result](1)The tree species composition of the community remained unchanged,and dominant species showed subtle variations,however,there were changes in the ranking of important values among dominant species;important values of pos-itive tree species such as Maackia amurensis,Populus davidiana,and Betula platyphylla decreased,while Acer mono consistently maintained the highest important value.(2)Fraxinus mandshurica emerged as the tree species with the largest breast height diameter and volume,accounting for 20.2%-22.7%and 22.6%-25.8%,respectively.Over 41 years,stand density decreased,while mean diameter at breast height(DBH),total basal area,and total volume increased.Mean DBH was 26.1,26.9,and 31.2 cm;total basal area was 27.83,29.92,and 33.20 m2·hm-2;and total volume was 193.88,209.06,and 233.69 m2·hm-2 across the three surveys.(3)The diameter class struc-ture of all tree species exhibited an inverted"J"shape,indicating healthy regeneration of the community.Small-diameter trees(10-26 cm)experienced the highest mortality,with a mortality rate of approximately 50%-70%.In contrast,medium-diameter trees(30-46 cm)and large-diameter trees(50-66 cm)had lower mortal-ity rates of about 30%-60%.Trees with diameters exceeding 70 cm were rare,and no mortality incidents were recorded.(4)Species diversity in the community did not change significantly.The mortality rate of positive tree species was significantly higher than the regeneration rate,indicating signs of decline.However,no significant differences were observed in mortality and regeneration rates between the remaining tree species.Shade-tolerant tree species exhibited increased dominance,resulting in relatively stable populations.[Conclusion]The commu-nity has not reached a climax state and is transitioning toward a mixed broadleaved-Korean pine forest.Mortality of light-demanding pioneer species and regeneration of shade-tolerant species critically influence succession di-rection.These findings provide insights for managing natural forests in the region.关键词
