Abstract

Objective The evacuation and transport is a crucial part of emergency medical rescue.However,the existing emergency equipment used in the transport in China has a single feature and the equipment is dispersed,which was limited to realize continuity of care for the sick and wounded in the pre-hospital setting.In this study,we developed a portable emergency integrated medical equipment that can be applied to emergency medical rescue site transport.Methods The modular layout and design of the portable emergency machine along with its three primary functions of multi-parameter vital sign monitoring,mechanical ventilation,and liquid infusion,were realized through the utilization of core technologies such as mechanical design,electrical control,turbocharging,air circuit control,and closed-loop control of stepper motor.These design principles were based on integration,modularity,and portability.Use multi-function vital signs simulator,respiratory tester,and flow tester to conduct testing of each parameter in the three core functions,following the completion of the device prototype's trial manufacturing.Results Portable emergency integrated equipment was combined with three functions of vital signs monitoring,respiratory ventilation,infusion,and the equipment was miniaturized(475 mm×230 mm×240 mm)and weightlessness(≤8 kg).Moreover,equipment had a multi-parameter alarm function.The average difference between each physiological parameter of the vital signs monitoring module and the setting test value was 0.212%.The average difference between the tidal volume positive end-expiratory pressure of different respiratory ventilation mode and the setting test value was 2.24%and 0.16%,respectively.The average difference between the actual infusion rate and the setting value was 1.04%.Conclusions The portable emergency machine developed in this study is compact and highly portable,with monitoring and treatment capabilities,and has stable performance of each functional module and high measurement precision.This machine has an excellent future application value in the transport of the sick and wounded in the emergency rescue scene.
