Design of automated assembly system for stud welding parts based on machine vision

Abstract
The stud welding production line has many parts and relies on manual assembly.In this paper,a set of automatic assembly system for stud welding parts is designed and constructed based on machine vision technology.The system consists of vision system and assembly system.The vision system adopts the minimum external rectangle algorithm,characteristic parameter anomaly analysis,Canny operator and similarity comparison algorithm to realize part model recognition,abnormal position and defect judgment.It improves the median filtering algorithm for image processing of stud welded parts.Based on the characteristics of the parts,the robotic arm loading and screwing mechanisms of the assembly system are designed and constructed.Test results show the system achieves continuous and stable loading and assembling of parts.The abnormal position judgment rate of the vision system is 100.0%,the model identification judgment rate 99.4%,the defect parts judgment rate 97.4%,the torque precision control accuracy rate 99.2%,and the assembly qualification rate 96.8%.They all meet the efficiency and precision requirements of the assembling operation in the multi-specification stud welding parts.关键词
