Simulation study on nitrogen removal in polluted lakes by adding denitrifying bacteria

Abstract
The addition of denitrifying bacteria to nitrogen-polluted lakes serves as an effective measure for nitrogen pollution control,particularly in emergency situations.However,the actual denitrification effects are unstable.To investigate the influencing factors,a series of lab experiments were conducted using denitrifying bacteria(from the nature)and lake water simulation solutions.The factors in the research include wind disturbance,initial nitrate nitrogen concentration,carbon sources,carbon-nitrogen ratio(C/N),number of denitrifying bacteria added,temperature and dissolved oxygen(DO).The results reveal that wind disturbance and temperature have significant impacts on nitrite reduction and bacterial growth,with intense wind disturbance and low temperatures inhibiting nitrate reduction.In terms of carbon sources,there are minimal differences in denitrification.Increasing the C/N enhances the growth rate and biomass of denitrifying bacteria,as well as the removal rate of nitrate.Conversely,oxygen significantly inhibits denitrification rates compared to anaerobic environments.Interestingly,increasing the number of denitrifying bacteria has minimal effects on nitrate nitrogen removal rates but does reduce bacterial growth and lead to nitrite nitrogen accumulation.Overall,an addition of 2 mL is determined to be more suitable.The experimental findings offer scientific rationale for refining the application strategy of denitrifying bacteria.关键词
