摘要

Abstract

This work aims to address the severe impact of localized coal seam thickness variations on the safe and efficient production of mines in the Xin'an coalfield of western Henan Province,and attempts to provide a basis for mine disaster management and mining layout.The thickness variation and controlling factors of the No.Ⅱ1 coal seam in the Shanxi Formation were investigated based on principles of statistics,sedimentology,and structural geology.The results show that the overall variation pattern of coal seam occurrence in the Xin'an coalfield is not obvious,with significant variations in coal thickness both macroscopically and microscopically,resulting from the combined effects of ancient sedimentary environments and multi-phase tectonic movements.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)The average thickness of the No.Ⅱ1 coal seam in the area is 4.04 m,mainly concentrated in the range of 0~5 m.The coal seam is thicker in the west and thinner in the east,with the western coal seam being less stable than the eastern one.(2)The lithology of the roof and floor of the No.Ⅱ1 coal seam is divided into four different combination patterns,primarily consisting of mudstone roof with mudstone floor and sandstone roof with mudstone floor.Different roof and floor lithology combinations exert varying control effects on coal seam thickness variations.(3)The thickness variation of the No.Ⅱ1 coal seam is regionally influenced by epigenetic erosion,while localized severe thickness variations are mainly controlled by interlayer sliding structures,with a control range of 25~92 m.(4)Small to medium-sized fault structures are another cause of abrupt coal seam thickness changes in working faces,with a control range of less than 30 m.
